Florida Girls, A Novel: Book One of The Queenpin Chronicles - Paperback

by L. L. Kirchner (Author)

St. Petersburg, Florida, 1944.

As World War II draws to a close, eighteen-year-old Thelma Miles-broke, orphaned, and fiercely alert to injustice-lands a coveted position on the Florida Girls national war bond tour, selling optimism, glamour, and patriotism as the war is coming to an end.

What appears to be a path out of her troubled past quickly entangles Thelma in Florida's criminal underworld. The tour is quietly financed by gangsters who expect obedience, not ambition, and overseen by former debutante Kathleen Young, whose determination to climb Florida's social ladder puts everyone at risk.

When Tampa's most notorious crime boss makes Thelma an offer she cannot refuse, Thelma and Kathleen form an uneasy alliance that will test their loyalties and their limits.

Florida Girls is a richly atmospheric historical crime novel exploring ambition, class mobility, and chosen family among women navigating power, danger, and survival in wartime Florida. The novel is the first installment in The Queenpin Chronicles, a completed trilogy.
