DipaliZ World Map Acrylic Wall Clock Deep Oceanic Blues

$30.98

This is an acrylic wall clock from DipaliZ, printed with an original world map design. The oceans are worked in deep blues and the landmasses set lighter so they read against the water. DipaliZ offers two round sizes, 8 by 8 inches and 10.75 by 10.75 inches. The map is printed onto an acrylic panel. Materials and sizes listed here come from this product's own specification.

The story behind this design

Putting a world map on a circle means the projection has to give up something, and what it gives up here is the poles: the map is cropped to the inhabited band so the continents fill the face instead of shrinking to fit. Fine linking lines are drawn between landmasses, which is where the global connections idea comes from, and they double as a subtle guide for the eye between hour positions. Ocean blue is taken deep enough that white hands never disappear into it.
