The candle is poured in one size, an 11 oz glass jar. A wooden wick crackles as it burns and throws a wider, flatter flame than a cotton wick, which is the whole reason to choose one. Nine scents are listed, including Oakmoss and Amber, Sea Minerals, and a fragrance-free version. The candle suits anyone who wants the sound of a fire in a room that does not have one.

Product details

Natural soy wax candle with a wooden wick

One size: 11 oz glass jar

Nine scents: Vanilla, Mango Coconut, Fraser Fir, Cinnamon Chai, Lavender, Blackberry Vanilla, Oakmoss and Amber, Sea Minerals, Fragrance Free

Poured to order by DipaliZ

The size, wax and scent list above are taken from this candle's own product record.

The story behind this design

The label was drawn around the wick rather than the scent, which is unusual for a candle. Because a wooden wick is a visible horizontal line across the wax, the artwork leaves the upper third of the jar clear so you can see it, and keeps the type low and narrow. The tones are woodsmoke grey and pale bark, close enough to the wick itself that the jar looks designed as one object. Oakmoss and Amber is the scent the palette was matched to.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What size is this DipaliZ wooden wick candle?
A: The candle is offered in one size, an 11 oz glass jar.

Q: What does a wooden wick do differently?
A: A wooden wick crackles softly as it burns, a little like a small fireplace, and it gives a wider, flatter flame than a cotton wick.

Q: Which scents are available?
A: Nine scents: Vanilla, Mango Coconut, Fraser Fir, Cinnamon Chai, Lavender, Blackberry Vanilla, Oakmoss and Amber, Sea Minerals, and Fragrance Free.

Q: What wax is used?
A: Natural soy wax.

Q: How do I stop a wooden wick going out?
A: Trim the wood down to about an eighth of an inch and snap off the charred crust before each burn. Let the first burn pool the wax to the edge of the glass. Keep burns under four hours, use a heat-safe surface, keep it away from drafts, never leave it unattended, and stop burning when about half an inch of wax is left.

Original DipaliZ artwork, brand new and poured to order, shipped worldwide.

The DipaliZ promise: for every $20 you spend, we plant a tree.
