The story behind this design

Science affection tees usually pick one discipline and alienate the rest. This one stays general on purpose: the graphic states the fondness and leaves the field open, so a geologist and a microbiologist can wear the same shirt without either feeling addressed by the other's equipment. Heathered grounds keep it looking worn-in rather than newly issued.
