The story behind this design

Damask on a tablecloth is almost a tautology, since the pattern was invented for exactly this kind of cloth. What is worth doing, then, is getting the scale right: too small and it reads as a hotel napkin, too large and the plates sit in the middle of a single medallion. These are drawn at a size where a place setting lands cleanly between two of them, and the gold is kept to ivory-adjacent rather than brassy.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What size is this tablecloth?
A: One size, which is the only option on this DipaliZ listing.

Q: What colors is the damask printed in?
A: Ivory and gold, over a white base cloth.

Q: What occasions does it suit?
A: Weddings, formal dinners, anniversaries and a dressed Christmas or New Year table.

Q: How does this differ from the DipaliZ snowflake tablecloth?
A: This one is a year-round ivory and gold damask. The snowflake cloth is a seasonal winter design in icy blue on cotton twill, and is square at 58 by 58 inches.

Care
