The story behind this design

Ferns and stones are an odd pairing until you see them together: the fronds are all repetition and fine edges, the stones all weight and smooth curve, and each makes the other more visible. The palette stays in muted green and warm grey so the artwork does not fight the writing that will be laid over it. It is designed to be looked at between sentences.
